Healthy Places Framework for schools
Using the Healthy Places Framework for your school’s health and wellbeing priorities
Health and wellbeing supports learning and engagement. When they are part of everyday school life, students are better able to learn and staff and families feel supported.
Health and wellbeing priorities can be different for every school and may change over time. The Healthy Places Framework helps schools respond to these priorities using a clear, whole‑school approach.
The Flexible Action Guide supports schools to use the framework for school‑identified or emerging priorities.
The Healthy Places Framework is grounded in the World Health Organisation and UNESCO’s Health Promoting Schools model and provides a clear, repeatable way to embed health and wellbeing across school life.
This whole‑school approach is reflected in six interconnected action areas. Together, they support lasting health and wellbeing benefits for the whole school community.
